VAN DE ZANDE, Rob

Ophelia (Tribute to Fernando PESSOA )

She is buried here, how fair

This gentle tone will finally rest,

The garden is now her harbour where

Dew will kiss her tombstone's breast.

The life she lived, left her behind;

The beauty that was has now ceased,

What God gave to the human kind

Is held now by the cruel beast.

O scarlet rose, shattered by rain,

Sweet of heart, that will never fade,

Let the arms of sun embrace your pain

In heaven, where you are forever laid.
