DE MORAES, Vinicius

Trecho

Quem foi,perguntou o Celo.

Que me desobedeceu?

Quem foi que entrou no meu reino.

E em meu ouro remexeu?

Quem foi que pulou meu muro.

E minhas rosas colheu?

Quem foi,perguntou o Celo.

E a Flauta falou: fui Eu.

Mas quem foi,a Flauta disse.

Que no meu quarto surgiu?

Quem foi que me deu um beijo.

E em minha cama dormiu?

Quem foi que me fez perdida.

E que me desiludiu?

Quem foi,perguntou a Flauta.

E o velho Celo sorriu.

Who was it, asked the Cello

Who disobeyed me?

Who was it, who entered my kingdom

And rummaged my gold?

Who was it, who jumped over my wall

And my roses stole?

Who was it, asked the Cello

And the Flute said: it was I.

But who was it, said the Flute

Who came into my room?

Who was it, who gave me a kiss

And in my bed slept?

Who was it, who made me feel lost

And deluded?

Who was it, asked the Flute

And the old Cello smiled.
